Employees Promote Construction Industry in Georgia High SchoolsThe Construction Education Foundation of Georgia recently sponsored a Career Day for over 1500 students and teachers at 28 schools across Georgia. Governor Purdue implemented the program in 2005, but this is the first year it was held statewide. Among those volunteering their time to speak to the students about their experiences as contractors were Chris R. Sheridan & Co. employees Christy Kovac, Chief Estimator, who spoke at Macon's Westside High School to a group of girls as an effort to encourage female participation in the construction industry; Mitchell Turner, Project Engineer, who spoke at Mary Persons High School in Forsyth; and William Hollis, Superintendent, who spoke at Jones County High School. |
