Waterproofing Project at Wesleyan College Complete Under the field supervision of Jay Ehalt and the project management of Justin Ragan, Chris R. Sheridan & Company recently completed work on the Olive Swann Porter Building at Wesleyan College. Originally built in the 1920s, O.S. Porter building has opened its doors to many students, but had recently begun to allow water to seep in too. Chris R. Sheridan & Company took on the job of waterproofing the basement of the building to eliminate the long-problematic moisture issue. This job consisted of extensive excavation work. Over 650 cubic yards of soil were removed from the immediate perimeter of the building, down to the footers, which are 12 feet deep. Waterproofing materials were applied to the exterior of the basement walls, a french drain was installed, and sump pumps were installed to complete the waterproofing system. The job was completed over a span of five weeks.
