This project consisted of completely renovating the interior and exterior of this historic structure. According to local lore, the roof consists of the largest copper dome in the world. Our work included extensive demolition and excavation in the basement to install a complex new mechanical system. The building was built in 1923 over a spring, and a significant amount of waterproofing was required. Included in the work was the restoration of a mural over the proscenium arch depicting the history of Macon. This building belongs to the Macon Coliseum Authority, and our firm has been fortunate to be the contractor for every construction project of the Authority. The others are: The Coliseum, The Renovation of the Grand Opera House, and the Edgar Wilson Convention Center.
